The objective of this study is to assess the challenges and prospects of Goze Mosque, a medieval Islamic heritage of North Shewa. The study used descriptive research design, and employs document analysis, observation, measurement, photographing, and interviews as methods of data collection. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively. Findings show that the Mosque of Goze is in a bad state of conservation. Damage is caused by mason bees, leaking gutters and rainwater, and rising damp. The poor drainage system and the load transferring method of the mosque also intensify the decaying of the wooden column and the cracking and partial falls of the roof ceiling. Thus, it needs immediate intervention to protect and manag this priceless Islamic heritage resource.
